Being Unusually Good Students (B.U.G.S.)

Olin Elementary is hoping to see a lot of BUGS this year! Staff at the school has developed a positive reinforcement program that operates on the premise of catching kids Being Unusually Good Students (BUGS) and rewarding them with a paper bug. A BUG can be earned at any time, and recipients will be recognized during a school assembly.

We hope to create an environment where students, parents and faculty/ staff practice the 3 B’s:

Be SAFE – Be RESPECTFUL - Be RESPONSIBLE.

Students are taught and reminded to make choices based on:

  • the SAFETY of all students and adults

  • treating all students and adults with RESPECT

  • RESPONSIBLE behaviors

The faculty and staff have developed what SAFE, RESPECTFUL, and RESPONSIBLE behaviors look like in five areas of the school and when riding the bus.

They are:

  • The Bus

  • The Hallway

  • The Restroom

  • The Playground/ Recess

  • The Lunchroom

  • School Assemblies
