Olin Elementary Nutrition
Good nutrition helps students learn and grow. Olin Elementary serves healthy, delicious meals that follow National School Lunch Program guidelines. We also serve breakfast every day to help students start their day ready to learn.
Olin Elementary Nutritional Standards
We follow the standards of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs and offer a wide variety of healthy options for your student to build a nutritious breakfast or lunch meal. At each meal your student may have another serving of fruit or veggie at no additional cost.
Breakfast is served from 7:20-7:50am.
STUDENTS ARE TO BE IN THE CAFETERIA NO LATER THAN 7:45am IF HE/SHE IS EATING THE ADVERTIZED BREAKFAST. Late Students will have healthy options to pick from and will build a to-go style breakfast to eat in their homeroom.
ON LATE START DAYS, Breakfast will be available from 9:20-9:50am.

Farm to School
The Iowa Farm to School Program connects schools with local farmers to provide fresh food and nutrition education. Activities include:

Learning from local farmers or chefs.

Exploring seasonal foods through nutrition activities.

Growing food in school gardens.
