Sophie Schemmel

Hi there! My name is Sophie Schemmel, and this is my fifth year at Olin Elementary, three years being the special education teacher and this being my second year with kindergarten. I graduated from Clarke University’s education program and am currently working on finishing my masters degree.

My husband, Dan, and I live in Monticello on a hog farm with our three kids: Harrison, Coralee and baby, Arthur. Harrison is eight in second grade, Coralee is six in first grade, and Arthur is almost one year old. Our days consist of chasing Arthur around and cleaning up everything he gets into! As a family, we love to be outside, play games, and snuggle on the couch to read books or watch lots of movies.

These past years at Olin have been so wonderful since the community has been welcoming and fun! My family and I love going to Olin events to see the kids and families. We are looking forward to another year of getting to know the students and their families!
