I started teaching at Olin Elementary School in behavior and learning disabilities as a Special Education Strategist II. My current teaching areas include 6th grade homeroom, and science/STEM. It is wonderful to facilitate the learning and growth of Olin students especially during science/STEM projects!
Favorite past-time:
Exploring the outdoors, reading, playing instruments, cooking, STEM tinkering, geocaching, and traveling with my son and family.
Previous experience:
I taught for over 20 years in other school districts and universities as a professor in Iowa, Minnesota, Utah, Oregon, and Colorado. Worked in countries including Africa as a whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking and adventure guide!
Current professional development:
Working on a second doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership (my first doctorate was focused on environmental education and natural resource science) and coursework in science, STEM and computer science at my alma mater, University of Northern Iowa.
